| Dear Family (whoever gets this, please pass it on to the others!),
So, I'm moved into college! Pepperdine University is absolutely gorgeous. I feel really grown up, extremely overwhelmed, extremely excited, and I've been busy nonstop since Sunday morning, so I'm pretty darn tired. (Also, I'm running on about 8 hours of sleep in two days... yeah, coffeeeee). It's a little intimidating to be in the same freshman class with everyone who was valedictorian, top of their class, ASB president, etc., but I'm getting used to it. The guys aren't bad looking, either.
I'll post pictures of our dorm room as soon as I can. It looks amazingly cute. My roommate's name is Casey, so everyone we introduce ourselves to says, "Cassie and Casey! That's so cute! Are you guys roommates?" And we nod and smile and say, "Yeah, but that's not why we picked each other..." It was cute at first, but after we wrote the correct pronunciations of our names on the little whiteboard on our door complete with accent marks, it started getting slightly old. People mix us up a lot. But it's still fun. Casey is adorable, really sweet, and she has all the same habits I do, so it works out. We're both not morning people at all though, so we may have a lateness issue.
Instead of gaining the freshman fifteen, I've already begun to lose it. The walking here is... strenuous. The amount of stairs causes me to get to many places slightly sweaty. Also, taking showers with a shower bucket? It definately takes some getting used to.
Last night our "brother" dorm came yelling outside the girls' dorm in the middle of the night that they wanted to go to the beach. With all the yelling and commotion, it was pretty pointless (especially since Casey and I's room is on the first floor, RIGHT next to the dorm entrance) to stay in bed. So we put on our bathing suits and sweatshirts and headed down to the beach in Malibu at midnight. I'm liking college already! Except I'm really tired.
All the acronyms around campus are hard to remember, but I'm getting used to it. The "CCB," or Center for Communications and Business, is where a lot of my classes will be. I'm thinking I'm going to go the route of advertising. I know I have had many ideas for my life in the past, but I'm still deciding what to do. Advertising honestly seems like a perfect major for me, so I'm going to adjust my classes to fit my schedule if I want to go overseas next year.
My freshman seminar class, Communication Arts of the Digital Age (web design) has about 17 boys and 4 girls. It's pretty interesting. When they start talking about sports and motorcycles, there's not much the girls can do. Oh well! It will be a funny and memorable class, i'm sure. The professor is funny, huge, and very talented musically. And, I guess in web design...
Well, in fifteen minutes a seminar about the overseas programs starts, so I'd better get going. I'm going to write more later, definately! The college experience is just beginning. :)
Love, Cassie <3

Maybe I need You more than air. So I’ll be the earth, the roots sinking deep into soil, Standing in You and with You against the face of a rock So I can feel the wind coming at me in inevitability As it bites off my tears in violent nips, Taking me to a place I often miss, The place I can give You my soul on a plate and say Take this spilled spaghetti and the way I choke on my words You paint the porcelain, acrylics sinking into the cracks As the ash from the fire floats aimlessly through the air and in some Divine fairy spark a realization dawns on my atmosphere My eyes open and I see a green star, The composition of white flakes and shards This is my life, and I sit straight up, so I’m with you, I’m with you, I’m with you.

| I just looked back through all my entries, and I was kinda struck by
how much I've changed and how much I haven't. I'm the same
person, but I really feel like I grew into myself somehow. I know
why I act the way I do, and a lot of issues are behind me. I
guess that happens to everyone though.
I used to write such interesting entries... with dialogue and little
details that made it fun to read. I didn't even remember some of the
stuff that happened to me, and re-reading it made me laugh. Haha,
like
sophomore year in Hetherington's class when Kevin Costner made out with
a chick who said "I'm in mourning" and I said loudly, "I want to
mourn." That's great, lol. And how stupidly obsessed I was
with my boyfriends over the years. Um, yeah. No.
So, I'm GRADUATING!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YEAH CLASS OF '07.
I'm for sure going to Pepperdine University in the fall. I found
a roommate. Her name is Casey... haha, should be interesting.
High school's almost over--it's almost a little too much to understand
right now. I have so many friends that I've drifted away from, so
I might never see them again. I also have a lot of friends who I've
become so much closer to, and I'm going to miss them incredibly.
I'm going to walk with Monique during the ceremony.
New York was amazing. We shopped an insane amount, and I got to
meet the casts of The Office and Heroes. Yeahhh baby. Prom
was last Friday, and that was a BLAST. It was awesome
to get dressed up and just have some fun with my friends... Prom was at
the Disney Hotel, then we took a limo to LA and ate breakfast.
Rachel and I drove back at five AM, trying to stay awake.
Everyone looked gorgeous.

My graduation is going to be at Calvary Chapel High School on June
12th, for whoever is interested. I know my mom is sending out
announcements, but I think she's slacking a little more for me than she
did with Kristen. Oh well, the second kid usually gets the worst
of it... fewer baby photos, no car... whatever. :)
I guess I'm going up to Santa Cruz again on Thursday... We're staying in a hotel. So I can't wait to see you guys!
In further news, I have a bajillion photos on my myspace, so check them
out if you can. I uploaded a lot of my photography.

I'm trying to soak up as much of my friends and of Calvary as
possible. Senior year in general has been SO much fun, and our
class is really close as a group. I know we all complain that we
hate Calvary, but really? It's been an awesome four years, and
I'm going to be proud to say that 9th-12th, Calvary Chapel High School
rocked my socks.
p.s. Yearbooks got passed out today; glad that's finally over. I got
the certificate and AJ got the plaque, but nope, I'm not bitter. I know
he did a lot of the layout work.
(Need sleep).
